Our Return Policy

We accept returns within 15 days of delivery for most items. To be eligible for return:

  • Items must be unused, in original condition with all tags attached
  • Original packaging must be intact (like we packed it for your adventure)
  • Proof of purchase is required

Non-Returnable Items

For safety and hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns on:

  • Personalized or custom-made items (like embroidered burgees & flags)
  • Used buoyancy aids and drysuits (for obvious hygiene reasons)
  • Clearance or final sale items (marked as such in product descriptions)

The Return Process

Navigating our return process is easier than reading a tide chart:

Step 1: Initiate Your Return

Email our customer service team at [email protected] within 15 days of receiving your order. Use the subject line “Return Request – [Your Order Number]” and include:

  • Your order number
  • The item(s) you wish to return
  • Reason for return
  • Whether you prefer an exchange or refund

Step 2: Receive Return Authorization

Within 2 business days, we’ll email you:

  • A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number
  • Return shipping instructions
  • Our return address in Chicago

Step 3: Ship Your Return

Pack your item securely (like you’d pack gear for a kayak trip) and include:

  • The original packing slip or invoice
  • RMA number clearly visible on the package

Note: Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless the return is due to our error.

Step 4: Receive Your Refund or Exchange

Once we receive and inspect your return (typically within 5 business days):

  • Refunds: Will be processed to your original payment method within 3-5 business days
  • Exchanges: Your replacement will ship within 2 business days of return approval

Exchange Policy

Prefer to exchange for a different size or product? No problem! Follow the same return process above and specify your exchange preference. We’ll ship your new item as soon as we process your return.

Damaged or Defective Items

If your water gear arrives damaged or defective (which we work hard to prevent), contact us immediately at [email protected]. We’ll arrange a free return and expedite your replacement – no need to navigate rough waters alone.

International Returns

For our global adventurers (excluding some Asian and remote regions):

  • Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility
  • Customs fees for returned items are non-refundable
  • Please mark the package as “Returned Goods” to avoid additional charges

Refund Timeline

Once we receive your return:

  • Credit Card/PayPal: 3-5 business days (processing time depends on your bank)
  • Original Shipping Costs: Non-refundable unless return is due to our error
